The KALANGOS® Ring is made of an absorbable synthetic polymer, the polydioxanone, dyed
with a FDA-listed colorant. The Ring has a pre-attached PVDF suture that is used to anchor the ring within the annular tissue. All components are biocompatible and have been used for decades in cardiovascular surgery. KALANGOS® Ring for Mitral application (Model MRK) is characterized by a curved segment appropriately fitted to the Mitral native annulus.
